Visit Experimental Station / Dan Peterman

Friday evening April 30th, Marjolijn, Erik, Bas, George and Saskia made a visit to Experimental Station, at 6100 S. Blackstone Avenue in Chicago’s southern district. The Experimental Station started in 2001, and its history goes back to the start of the 1990s. It is a not-for-profit incubator of sustainability, through many different initiatives, among them the bike shop.

With Dan Peterman and Ken Dun we discussed issues of sustainability and encounter. George Korsmit and Saskia Jansen gave an introduction to their Rainbow Soul Club project in Amsterdam and the travel with 3 of its participants to Surinam in 2008. After dinner we played soccer in the multi-purpose working hall, and Dan showed us his work.
